Funeral for Buddy Powell, 88, of Rusk was at3 p.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Chapel of Palestine with the Rev. Dan Pate officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Park at Palestine.
Mr. Powell died Feb. 15 at East Texas Medical Center Jacksonville. He was born Aug. 25, 1912, in Tucker to the late Milton and Mary Poole Powell. He was a cab driver and a member of the Norwood Heights Baptist Church in Palestine.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Darrell Moore.
Survivors are his wife, Burt Powell of Rusk, two daughters, Alma Louise Lanbright of Arlington and Rebecca (Becky) Moore of Rusk, a sister, Lucille Parker of Hobbs, NM, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Curtis Fitzgerald, Dorothy Kirby, Lorean Williams, Gaylon Walding, Windell Williams, Hack Lambright and David Killion.
