Hazel Hurley Jones, age 82, of Richmond, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Arbor Trace Exceptional Senior Living. Born November 8, 1930, in Livingston, Kentucky, to Vernon and Delia Mullins Powell, she had lived in Richmond since 1957. Hazel worked as a waitress at the State Line Truck Stop and was a member of Kings Highway Holiness Church. She was a volunteer at Grace House Clothing Ministry at First Baptist Church in Centerville. Survivors include her sons, C. Eddie (Kathie) Hurley of Florida, Ronnie Lee (Peggy) Hurley of Livingston, Kentucky, and Marion Kenneth (Pam) Hurley of Louisville, Kentucky; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Alena Tincher of London, Kentucky, Eunice (Billy)Cornett of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, and Opal (Franklin) Durham of Somerset, Kentucky; nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Jones who died in 1996; parents; step-father, John McCollum; and brothers, William K. Powell, Carlos Powell, and Lawrence Powell. Visitation for Hazel Hurley Jones will be from 1 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. James Slaven officiating. Burial will be in Bales Cemetery, Livingston, Kentucky.
