Mrs. Mary Jeanell Potts Crook, age 83, of Rome passed away Sunday April 3, 2016 in a local health care.
Mrs. Crook was born February 18, 1933 in Piedmont, Alabama a daughter of the Henry Virgil Potts, and Ola Maslissia Anthony. She was a member of Hill Crest Baptist Church. She was retired from Cornett Carpet. Mrs. Crook was preceded in death by her husband, Orbie Crook, in 1988, children, Thomas Andrew Hanson, Dec. 2, 1951, James Ollie Hanson, September 9, 1967, sisters, Edna Lucille Potts, Stella Dean Potts, brother, Virgil Leon Potts, grandchild, Stacy Young, great great grandchild, Abigail Wilson.
Survivors include sons, John Mark Hanson, Buchannan; Jesse Joel Hanson, Rockmart; Paul Timothy Hanson, Rockmart; daughter, Gloria Jeanell Hanson, Center, Al; sister, Doris Ann Floyd, Rockmart; brother, William Howard Potts, Pensacola, Fl; 5 grandchildren, great grandchildren, 10, one great great grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday April 9, 2016 at Highland Cemetery in Piedmont, Alabama. with Rev. Charles Hanson, and Mark Hanson, officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 P.M. Saturday April 9, 2016, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
