OBITUARY OF MRS. OLLIE A. FLOWERS

Mrs. Ollie Albine Flowers, age 77 years and nine months, was the widow of the Late Henry L. Flowers, and a daughter of Andrew and Mary Burress Pottee. She was born at Hubbard in Hill County, Texas, September 28th 1880 and grew up in that county and was married to W. P. Wilkerson, also of Hill County, January 13th, 1896. Three children were born to the union, and one passed on in childhood and Mr. Wilkerson died in 1904.

On November 13th, 1906, she was married to Henry L. Flowers at Malone, Hill County, Texas, and six children were born to this union; one child preceded the parents in death and Mr. Flowers passed on November 8th, 1946, after they had retired and moved to Decatur. Since his death Mrs. Flowers has made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Waldrop, in Decatur, and has enjoyed good health most all her life. She suffered a heart attack last Friday and was taken to the Bridgeport Hospital where she departed this life Saturday, June 29th, at 12:45 p.m.

Mrs. Flowers accepted her Savior when she was sixteen years of age in Hill County and united with the Baptist Church, and moved her membership to the Baptist Churches where she lived until 1912, when she placed her membership with the Assembly of God Church in Boyd where she held membership at time of her death. The Family lived in Boyd 28 years and moved to Decatur in 1942.

She is survived by seven children, who are: Mrs. Mattie Plummans of Kansas City, Missouri; Fred Wilkerson of Rhome, Texas; Rev. L. G. Flowers of Decatur; Odell Flowers of Mansfield, Texas; Mrs. Sam O. Waldrop of Decatur; Mrs. Marvin Wilson, Fresno, Calif.: and J. D. Flowers of Fort Worth. She is also survived by 6 step-children, Oscar Flowers of Vallejo, Calif.: Albert Flowers, O'Donnell, Texas; Ernest Flowers, Boyd, Texas; Mrs. Mamie Oates of Fort Worth, Texas; Roy Flowers of Wichita Falls, Texas; and Mrs. Grover C. Splawn of Pilot Point; 42 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Assembly of God Church in Boyd, Monday, July 1st, at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Pastor Rev. Oda Stewart of Boyd and Rev. Fred Carrington of Bridgeport, Texas.
