Alsometa A. HOOVER, 85, of 502 Hershberger St., Martinsburg, died
unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at her residence.
Born May 1, 1915, at Roaring Spring, R.D., she was a daughter of the late Jesse W. and Blanche (Brown) Pote.
She married Walter L. Hoover Sept. 9, 1937, in Roaring Spring. He preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1986.
Two brothers, Stanley Pote of Huntingdon and George Pote of Camp Hill survive, along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hoover was a member of the Albright Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, R.D. She retired in 1982 from the Spring Cove School District, after 41 years of service in the school cafeteria. She began her career in 1941 as a cook at the
Taylor School. In 1960, she was promoted to supervisor of the New Central High School Cafeteria in Martinsburg, and in 1969, she was named district manager of all cafeterias in the Spring Cove School District. Previously she was employed as a cook at the former Eldon Inn of Roaring Spring. Mrs. Hoover was a 1935 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Albright Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, R.D., with the Rev. Ronald Page and the Rev. Michael Olivieri officiating.
Interment will be made in the Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.
