Millie was born Oct. 15, 1942, in Los Angeles to Delbert (Jack) and Bessie Porter. She liked to tell everyone that she was born in Hollywood, it just wasn't Hollywood yet! She spent her early years in Washington and Oregon before her family settled in Salmon, Idaho. She attended school in Salmon and grew very fond of the town, townspeople and the beautiful mountains.
She married Andy Yardley, Jim Marrow and Lee Davis, all of these marriages ending in divorce.
She was well-known in the restaurant business, having worked her entire life as a cook and/or owner. She operated her own restaurant for a while and enjoyed the challenges that it brought.
She was a member of the DOE Eagles in Salmon and Idaho Falls, as well as Xi-Beta Kappa. She loved to be involved in helping others and the community. She loved to sew, fill out puzzle books and cook, but most of all she loved to spoil her grandchildren. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Millie is survived by her daughters, Christina "Tina" Daniels of Idaho Falls and Denice (Richard) Efterfield of Derby, Kan.; stepdaughters, Gloria (Steve) Gardner of Myrtle Point, Ore., and Linda (Doug) Stockdale of Eugene, Ore.; brothers, Elmer (Beverly) Porter of Boise and Bill Porter and Larry (Mary) Porter of Oregon; grandsons, Scott Daniels (Kendra Lenz) and Saxson Daniels, both of Salmon, and Seth Daniels of Idaho Falls; granddaughters, Samantha Daniels of Idaho Falls and Misty (Adam) Mosier of Derby, Kan.; and three great-granddaughters, Dessiny, Jessica and Tailea.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Don and Vernon Porter; sister, Florence Porter; sisters-in-law, Karen and Alice Porter; and her stepson, Edwin Davis.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Aug. 25, at the Eagles Lodge, 210 Terrace in Salmon. Burial will follow at a later date in Salmon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
