They were the parents of 11 known children. Two of these children, William R. Bouton and Jehial Bouton died during the Civil War as soldiers in the Union Army. Jehial is buried in Washington D.C. and William died in Glasgow, Kentucky from typhoid fever in 1862. We have been unable to discover where he was buried. Daughter, Louisa, is buried next to her parents. Spelling change to Boughton occurred sometime before the 1860 U.S. Census, although son, William, still spelled his name Bouton when he enlisted in the Civil War and it is spelled that way on his marriage record.
