Mrs. Arleen Pollard Burks, of Lynchburg, VA, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Dennis Coleman and Lou Fannie Britton Pollard and sister of the late Dorothy Tisdale of Brookneal, VA and the late Christine Caldwell of Roxbury, MA. She leaves to mourn in her passing, her husband, Owen Burks of Lynchburg; two children, Mr. Orlanda Burks (Wanda) of Fairfax Station, VA and Avis Oxendine of Concord; two grandchildren, Oren Burks and Whitney Burks of Fairfax Station, VA; one sister, Bernice Pollard of Dorchester, MA; and one aunt and matriarch of her family, Josephine Henry of Boston, MA. She dearly loved Kersten Anderson, Stephen Anderson, and Khristian Anderson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Baptist Church in Naruna with interment in the church cemetery.
