Barneveld, August 29 – Mrs. Adelia P. Alger, mother of Whitman D. Alger and Mrs. W. E. Barker, died yesterday in her 89th year, the oldest resident of this village.
She was born in the town of Clay, Onondaga County, April 13 1833, the daughter of the late Hiram and Clara Plaisted and there she lived until her marriage to Kennedy Alger. The couple moved from there to Trenton, where she resided for nearly 60 years.
Thorough in her religion, Mrs. Alger was active in the Methodist Church and the W. C. T. U. and her kindness made her loved by many who will miss her.
There are seven grandchildren; Kenneth Alger of Texas, Morris of Manila, P.I.; Lawrence of Barneveld, Mrs. Lee Norton of Irvington, N.J.; Miss Alta Barker, of Montclair, N.J.; Paul W. Barker and Mrs. Owen D. Jones of Barneveld.
The funeral services will be held from the home of her daughter, Wednesday at 2 o’clock.
