ALBANY -- Era Ann Pittman, 68, died Friday, March 16, 2007 at her residence. Funeral Service will be Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Church Of Christ with Anthony Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Albany Cemetery directed by Melton - Kitchens Funeral Home of Breckenridge.
She was born on May 19, 1938 in Gorman , Texas to parents Roy Elliott Edgar and Blanche Irene Garrett Edgar. She married Bobby Pittman on November 16, 1955 in Artesia, New Mexico. Era was a member of the Church of Christ. She owned and operated Hapi Stop Gift Shop and Tenovus Mall in downtown Albany. She held a membership in the Albany Chamber Of Commerce, Downtown Merchants, Old Jail Art Center, Shackelford County Historical Committee, and the Albany Athletic Booster Club.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Pittman of Albany; children, Susie Hare and husband, Don of Albany; Bill Pittman and wife, Darla of Run Away Bay and Nelda Blackwell and husband, James, of Littlefield, and Burl Dean Pittman and wife, Melanie of Canadian. Grandchildren, Stormi Hare of Albany, Michelle Pittman of Colorado Springs, Dustin Pittman of Stephenville, Dustin Broom of Stephenville, and Robin Broom of Gainesville. Two brothers, Jerry Don Edgar and Donnie Ray Edgar both of Moran; Sister-in-law, Betsey Edgar of Albany. Six Nephews, Five Nieces, and numerous great Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, R.E. and Blanche Edgar, and brothers, Roy D, Edgar and Carl Gene Edgar.
