Jenny Pitman Alverson, 58, of Ringgold, GA, died Monday, April 3, 2006.
She was the daughter of Tom Pitman of Danville and the late Dorothy Pitman and the wife of Jeff Alverson.
She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Rossville, GA. She and her husband were missionaries to the American military for the last 21 years through Baptist International Missions, Inc. They also ministered for more than 20 years in various churches throughout Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
Survivors include: one daughter, Anita Alverson Kelly of Meridian, MS; one son, Jonathan Alverson of Rossville, GA; two sisters, Kathy Brogli of Lancaster and Linda Matsushima of Hawaii; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 7 at 11 a.m. at the Victory Baptist Church with Dr. Ernest Groce officiating.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m. in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, SC.
Visitation will be at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Oglethorpe, GA, Thursday after 5 p.m. and Friday prior to the service, and also at the Gateway Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, SC, from noon until the time of service.
