Martin Benjamin Pigott, Jr., DVM, passed away October 11, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He was born March 16, 1925 to Martin and Edith McKinstry Pigott in Austin, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University where he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets, B Troop Calvary, and Class of 1946. His education was interrupted by service in the United States Air Force, and he met his wife Sara Elizabeth Lee while stationed in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1953, Martin and Sara moved with their two sons to Corpus Christi to begin the next chapter of their lives. In 1956 Martin opened his practice, Windsor Park Animal Hospital, where "Dr. Martin" cared for his patients and their families until his retirement in 1998. In 2000, he married Rose Marie Verhetsel.

Martin was predeceased by his wife Sara, in 1997, and brother, Dr. Richard "Sonny" Pigott.

He is survived by his wife Rose Marie; sons, Martin B. Pigott III (and wife Valen) of San Antonio, Texas; Dr. Roger Pigott (and wife Armi); and grandchildren Benjamin Pigott, Heather Johnson, and Missy Field; Armi, Katie, and Lowell Pigott. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Patti Harris; Sherry Atkinson (and husband Scott) of Midland; and their children: George Harris, Renee George, John Terry and Elizabeth Madden; Laura Roye, Chris and Sarah Atkinson. He is also survived by his two sisters Alliece Pigott of Richmond, Virginia; Fay Nell Sproull (and husband Bill) of Forth Worth, Texas; and stepbrother John Reid Pigott of Sugarland, Texas.

A Rosary and memorial mass were conducted on Oct. 16 & 17 at St. Pius Catholic Church.
