Montrose "Monty" (Pifer) Buhite, 80, Millcreek Twp., died Thursday, January 13, 2000 at Hamot Medical Center.
She was born in DuBois, PA on October 3, 1919, daughter of the late George and Erma Pifer.
She lived in Erie since 1950. She worked for G.C. Murphy, then for S & H Green Stamp Company for 10 years.
She was a member of Cascade United Methodist Church and its Women's Society and Ruth's Circle. She was also a trustee with the church's finance committee.
She was a member of the Asbury Senior Citizens organization and volunteered with the CHOSEN Inc.
She was preceeded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ralph Buhite; and three brothers, Hayden, Norman and James Pifer.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Rudd and her husband, Tom Rudd of Girard, PA, a son, Richard Buhite and his wife Susan Buhite of Anaheim, CA; two grandchildren, Brian Foley of Erie,PA and Kimberly Buhite-Howery of Gillette, WY; seven great-grandchildren and many neieces and nephews.
