Mrs. Eliza Jones, mother of Ernest Jones of Pittsboro, died, Sunday afternoon, in the Golden Rule Nursing Home in Danville. She was 88 years of age.
The former Eliza Pierson, she was married to the late Dudley Jones of Pittsboro who died in 1935. She was an active member of the Pittsboro Christian Church, the Ladies Aid, the Christian Women's Fellowship and the Pittsboro Study Club.
Services were conducted, Wednesday morning, in the Jones & Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg with burial in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery.
Surviving with the son are a grandson, Roy Jones, of Brownsburg, and two great-grandchildren.
