María Antonia Pico y Cota was the daughter of soldado José Dolores Pico y Vastida (1763-1827) and María Isabel Asención Cota y Lugo (1783-1869). She married José Simeón Juan Nepomuceno Castro y Ramírez at the Monterey Presidio Chapel (San Carlos) August 18, 1819. She died at Monterey and was buried at Campo Santo San Carlos December 14, 1883.
