PICKERING, RUBY MAXINE, 89, died December 25 at Phillip Hulitar Center, Providence following a brief illness. Wife of the late Frank E. Pickering, she was born in Flat, MO on Sept. 12, 1919, and is daughter of the late Jason P. Woodard and Barbara (Britton) Reed.

A long time resident of Coventry and East Providence she was a secretary for Bostitch-Textron for more than 30 years and an active volunteer with RSVP and Hasbro Children's Hospital. She was also a long time active member of the former Washington United Methodist Church in Coventry and Haven United Methodist Church, East Providence.

She is survived by a son, Michael H. Pickering and daughter-in-law, Elinor Pickering of Bristol, RI, grandson, Scott Pickering and his wife, Jennifer of Rehoboth, MA and a granddaughter, Michelle and her husband Dr. Ben Galyardt of Ft. Collins, CO and four great grandsons; Joshua and Matthew Pickering, and Dylan and Rohan Galyardt.
