Linda Sue Mathews was the daughter of Milton Harley and Delsa Ethel (Peninger) Phillips. She grew up in Midwest City where she attended school and graduated from Carl Albert High School. She attended college in Wilburton, Oklahoma where she met and married Don Mathews and they began their family. Later, Linda continued her education and graduated from Northeastern State University. She taught school and was a substitute teacher for many years. Linda loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She had a great love of music and played the piano at several churches. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Warner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Mathews and daughter, Sara Luriee Mathews.
