A funeral Mass for Minnie Elizabeth (Phillips) Lewis Beyl, 83, New Albany, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 129 West Daisy Lane, New Albany, with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Navilleton Catholic Church Cemetery. She passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Dec. 30, 2015.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany and retired from USF&G Insurance Co. after 42 years of service. Minnie was an avid IU basketball fan, enjoyed traveling, as well as spending time with her family and friends.

She was born Nov. 28, 1932, in New Albany to the late James and Christine (Lang) Phillips.

Minnie is survived by her daughter, Laura Crowley (Chuck); granddaughter, Caitlin Crowley; nieces, Suzi Deem (Patrick), Tina Walts (Stephen), Lisa Koetter (Bruce), and Sheri Higgins.

Besides her parents Minnie was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Beyl; and sisters, Thelma Hammond and Mary Higgins.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany.

Contributions in Minnie’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Floyd County Humane Society, 215 W. Market St., New Albany, IN 47150.
