Walter Lee Phillips, well-known resident of Knoxville and former employe of the B&O R.R. Company died at his home Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock after an illness of three weeks, aged 58 years, 11 months and 28 days. He was a son of the late John W. and Mary Ellen Hoffmaster Phillips of Washington County and was a member of the Christian Alliance Church of Brunswick and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Mr. Phillps was employed by the B&O R.R. Co. for thirty-five years and was retired about a year ago.

Surviving him are two sons, Clarence Lee Phillips, Point of Rocks; Walter P. Phillips, at home; two brothers, John W. Phillips, Yarrowsburg, Washington County; C.W. Phillips, Hagerstown. Three grandchildren also survive.

The body is at the funeral home, 106 East Church street, and will be taken to his home this afternoon. the funeral will take place leaving the home Friday morning at 10:45 o'clock with final services at the Christian Alliance church, Brunswick, at 11 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Brownsville Church of the Brethren cemetery. M.R. Etchison and Son, funeral directors.
