Salt Lake Wednesday mourned the passing of another Utah Pioneer in the death of Mrs. Jane M. Petitt, 96, who made the long trek across the plains to Utah in an ox team in 1861.

Mrs. Petitt, oldest women present at the Salt Lake old folks' outing at Liberty Park last June, died at her home, 669 East Seventh South Street, Tuesday from infirmities incident to old age.

She was born April 20, 1835, in Connecticut, whence she came to Utah while a young women. She was the widow of Ezra Petitt.

Two sons, Ezra Petitt of Salt Lake and Parley Pettit, Magna; a daughter, Mrs. Josephine Groesbeck of Salt Lake; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren survive, in addition to a sister, Miss Martha Moses, and a brother, Fred F. Moses.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
