Bacon, a native of New York, and the widow of
Hiram A. Bacon, who was a farmer in Michi-
gan. By her first marriage she had two sons.
One died in' childhood; the other, Philip G. V.
Bacon, is engaged in the lumber business in
Texas. Her marriage to Captain Pettibone re-
sulted in the birth of three children, namely:
Ahuira Eliza, who is married and lives in North
Lawrence; Mrs. Nellie Wilkins, of Portland,
Ore. : and Charles, in North Lawrence. Mrs.
Pettibone is the only survivor of the twelve
children of Philip G. and Leah (Manning)

Vought, a native of New Jersey, and an ofiicer
in the Revolutionary war, settled in Schenec-
tady, N. Y. Philip G. Vought settled in Wash-
