Muncie - Mary E. Beard died Saturday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Mrs. Beard was born in Rosedale, Ind., and graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. She worked for Norris Plumbing and Heating for 17 years until retiring in 1986. She attended Four Square South Church.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth O. Beard; four daughters, Susan McConnell (husband: Tom), Liz Gibson (husband: John), Becky Thornburgh (husband: Bruce) and Julie Davis (husband: Chuck); three sons, Richard Stellwag, (wife: Shirley), David Beard (wife: Karen) and Joseph Beard; a brother, Glen Petry (wife: Joyce); 17 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
A brother is deceased.
Service will be at 1 p.m.Tuesday in Parson Mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Calling will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Parson Mortuary.
