Joseph C. Petrovich, 60, 2915 18th Ave., died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 1962, in Swedish-American Hospital, after a lingering illness.

Born March 19, 1902 in Spring Valley. Lived 54 years in Rockford, coming here from Spring Valley. Married to the former Catherine S. Weller in Rockford in 1925. Employed as a foreman of Machine and welding shop at Illinois Water Treatment Co. for 12 years. Member of St. Edward's Catholic Church, and of Loyal Order of Moose.

He was active in scouting for 28 years and was a scout commissioner for 12 years. He was in charge of Boy Scout troops in St. Edward's parish and St. Elizabeth's Social Center. Attended St. Mary's Grade School.

Survivors include: his widow, Catherine; one son, Robert W., Rockford; one granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Petrovich, 7; two brothers, Frank J., fire captain at fire station No. 6, and Walter, Rosemead, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. One sister, Mary C. Sisti, died in 1949.

Services at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday in Gasparini and Oliveri Funeral Home. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
