Neva P. Carlson, 100, formerly of 33 Douglas Place, passed away at 5:29 a.m. Friday (November 26, 2010) in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.

A lifelong area resident she was born November 13, 1910, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Charles and Hulda Johnson Peterson.

Before her retirement in 1972, she was employed by the former Quality Markets for 40 years.

She was a longtime member of the First Covenant Church and the Hope Circle. She was also a member of the Allen Park Women's Club and the American Scandinavian Heritage Foundation.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda (Chuck) Hagadorn of Jamestown, a son Bryan (Kaye) Carlson of Ft. Wayne, Ind., five grandchildren: Stacey (Randy) Daugharthy of Sugar Grove, Pa., Michael (Cathy) Hagadorn of Russell, Pa., Jennifer (Matt) Lion of Orlando, Fla., Elizabeth (Adam) Urschell, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Douglas Carlson of Falls Church, Va., eight great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert Peterson of Sinclairville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer W. Carlson, whom she married September 7, 1935, and who died February 12, 1982, two sisters: Evangeline Nelson and Marion Lundeen; and four brothers: Clifford, Sigvard, Norman and the Rev. Bertil Peterson.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Adam Rohler, pastor of the First Covenant Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home.
