Mattie M. Peterson, "Manny," was the wife of Johannas Emanuel Knudsen. They obtained a marriage license on October 26, 1909.

They had three children: Orval E. Knudsen b. 25 Sept. 1910, he died shortly after birth; Samuel Knudsen b. abt 1912. (1930 Census has him working on a farm for Floyd Bates in Dry Creek, Arapahoe, Colorado); and Marie Knudsen b. abt 1914, in Nebraska. She married Hillman Boicourt and lived in Denver, CO.

Mattie died on September 3, 1914. It might be deduced that Mattie died in childbirth with Marie. More information is needed.

J. Emmanuel was drafted in 1917 for WWI.

The 1920 Census finds Johannas E. Knudsen in Denver, Colorado. He is married to Agnetta M. Knudsen. Samuel, age 8 is living with them.

Around 1912, Johannas Emanuel's parents, Niel and Maren Knudsen moved from Ruskin, Nebraska to Denver, Colorado.
