Norma Perry Baptiste, wife of the late retired Lt. Col. Joseph C. Baptiste, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010, at a local hospital after a brief illness. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Father Charlie Calabrese officiating. Rosary: 6 p.m. Sunday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Baptiste was born in New Bedford, Mass., and had been a resident of Fort Worth for 50 years. She was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and a member of the Eagle Mountain Lake Woman's Club and Texas Rho Chapter of Phi Sigma Alpha Sorority. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society Cowtown Belles. Survivors: Children, Nancy Baptiste of Eureka Springs, Ark., Dr. Amy Lang of Atlanta, Ga., Mr. Perry Baptiste of Chapel Hill, N.C., Mrs. Susan McGruther of Sault Ste Marie, Mich., Mrs. Mara Bauer of Fort Worth and Mr. Brad Baptiste of Denver, Colo.; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
