Mrs. Thibodeaux, 95, died Sunday, July 11, 2004 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.
Mrs. Thibodeaux, born in Cravens, La., was a retired nurse and had the privilege of working the opening day at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital. She was an active member of MacArthur Drive United Methodist Church where she was active in Women's Society of Christian Service, having held local offices. During this time, she served as president of the Alexandria district. She also helped originate the idea of building the new St. Paul Methodist Church on Avoyelles Drive in Alexandria. She was a charter member of this church. She also helped organize the Senior Center of Lecompte and served as a director.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bertrand E. Thibodeaux; son, Robin L. Thibodeaux, Sr.; parents, Henry Perkins and Stella Perkins; a grandson, John B. Thibodeaux; a brother, Luzon Perkins; and three sisters, Carrie Waiss, Ann Moore, and Jewell Garland.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Jacquelene Poole of Cheneyville; grandsons, Robin L. Thibodeaux, Jr. of Lecompte and Brian A. Thibodeaux of Alexandria; great granddaughter, Peyton M. Thibodeaux of Lecompte; great-grandsons, Byron Poole and Trevor Poole of Cheneyville; and sisters, Irene Carter of Natchitoches and Genevieve Nelson of Bossier City.
Pallbearers will be Bill Poole, Byron Poole, Michael Poole, Larry Grayson, Danny Grayson and Brian Thibodeaux.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of service at the funeral home.
