Rachel Perkins Ballard, 81, a resident of Denham Springs, LA went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2015. She was born in Lake Park, GA. Rachel was a very kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved to sew and crochet. She enjoyed the mountains and hills of Kentucky and had a passion for Bluegrass and Gospel music. She had a career in life insurance as customer service representative. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Ray Ballard, parents; Thomas Perkins and Martha Jane Bays, her brothers, Thomas Perkins, Dan "Bunnie" Perkins, Walter Carter, Johnnie Carter, and Arthur Carter. She is survived by her three children; Vicki Clark, Sharon Elgin and husband Gene, John Thomas Ballard and wife Tracie; thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a very special niece, Elaine Carter. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Saturday, September 5, 2015 beginning at 12:30pm. Bro. Leon Dunn will conduct funeral services at 3:00pm. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
