Janice was born on Sept. 15, 1937, in Murphysboro, the daughter of Merrel E. and Josephine (Law) Bayer. She married Walter E. "Gene" Percival on Nov. 18, 1956, in Altamont, and he survives. Janice enjoyed camping, traveling and attending plays. She worked with the Girl Scouts and enjoyed teaching Sunday school, bible school and church youth groups. She was licensed by the State of Illinois for child daycare in her home.
Janice is survived by her husband, Walter E. "Gene" Percival of Pharr, Texas; daughters, Susan (Gary) Henderson of St. Ignatius, Mont., and Loretta (Mark) Cooper of Sidney, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin and Jordan Tarter, Stephanie Henderson, and Danielle and Rachelle Cooper; two stepgrandchildren, Greg and Pamela Henderson; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor; sister, JoAnn Robbins of Plainfield, Ind.; and an aunt, Margaret Berkbigler of Effingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathleen Tarter; and sister, Deborah Martell.
