Inez Pendley was born on November 26, 1900 to Elias Green Pendley and his wife Rhoda Parthenia Hales Pendley. She was their next to the youngest child and daughter. Inez grew up in Allatoona, Bartow County, Georgia, on the family farm.
When her younger sister Alligene was born in 1904, the family was complete.
At the time of the 1910 Census on April 29 of that year, Inez was nine and a number of her older siblings were already married.
On May 13, 1914 when Inez was just 13 her father passed away from gangrene which resulted from injuries which he sustained while chopping wood with an axe.
On November 5, 1916 just before her sixteenth birthday Inez married J.J. “Jake” Grogan. They lived in Paulding, Georgia near his family. Jake and Inez had a son Clyde Caston Grogan in 1919.
On September 12, 1922 Inez passed away at the young age of 21 in Paulding County, Georgia. She was buried in Emerson City Cemetery in the same family plot as her parents. She was survived by her husband and her son.
