Daughter of Hiram Sanford Rogers and Mary Elizabeth Halsey, wife of Robert Sidney Pelletreau and mother of John Rogers and Robert Halsey Pelletreau.

Obituary - Mrs. Mary Rogers Pelletreau, 76, of Patchogue, former New York State historian of the Daughters of the American Revolution, died Saturday in Southside Hospital, Bay Shore, She was a past regent of the Josiah Smith Chapter, D.A.R., of Patchogue, and was a member of the Society of New England Women. Mrs. Pelletreau was the widow of Robert S. Pelletreau, former Suffolk County Surrogate. Surviving are two sons, John R. and Robert H. Pelletreau, and four sisters, Mrs. Helen R. Ludlow, Mrs. Alice H. Hildreth, Mrs. Ella R, Deyo and Elizabeth R. Blaisdale.

Estate - The will of Mrs. Mary R. Pellelreau, of Patchogue, states the value of her estate is more than $10,000 in personal property and more than $10,000 in realty. Mrs. Pelletreau, who was the widow of Robert S. Pelletreau, former Surrogate of Suffolk County and one of the leading members of the Suffolk County Bar for many years, died on Sept 20. Robert H. Pelletreau, son, Patchogue, is bequeathed the homestead property on North Ocean avenue; John R. Pelletreau, son, East Patchogue, automobile, mahogany desk owned by the testatrix's grandfather, George Rogers, set of Encyclopedia Britannica, an Empire sofa and contents of the testatrix's northeast bedroom; Mary P. Pelletreau, daughter-in-law, Patchogue, solitaire diamond ring, cameo pin, crotcheted tablecloth and napkins, red and gold inlaid lamp, mahogany twin beds, bureau and small rocking chair. Eva Y. Pelletreau. daughter-in-law, East Patchogue, silver tea set and silver coffee set with trays, silver water pitcher, silver flower dish with glass mirror, silver candlesticks, old mantel clock, diamond dinner ring, mahogany bench upholstered with needlepoint, large rocking chair and brass candelabra; Nancy Pelletreau. granddaughter, East Patchogue, black enamel and gold pin and gold locket and chain which belonged to her great-grandmother, Naney Pelletreau; Anne and Susan Pelletreau, Patchogue, and Nancy Pelletreau, East Patchogue, granddaughters, flat silver to be divided among them; Helen H Ludlow, sister, Bridgehampton, all wearing apparel and also "the old lamp and pendants now in my living room which came from the Cook family"; Susan Pelletreau, granddaughter, a string of gold beads; Anne Pelletreau, granddaughter, a cameo pin which the testatrix purchased In Italy, and Robert H. Pelletreau, son, all remaining household furnishings and personal effects in the homestead and garage. The two sons are bequeathed the residuary estate in equal shares and they are named executors. The son, Robert, is a well known attorney of Patchogue. Mrs. Pelletreau, who was born at Bridgehampton, was a member of one of Eastern Suffolk County's oldest and most prominent families.
