Georgia Steinbach, 94, a longtime resident of Wenatchee, died Wednesday, March 26, 1997, at Central Washington Hospital.
She was born to George and Lillian (Wainwright) Peffley at Govan on March 26, 1903. At an early age she moved with her family to Wenatchee. On July 19, 1922, she married Glenn Steinbach at Wenatchee, making their home, operating an orchard and raising a family on Wenatchee Heights for over 60 years. Georgia was an active member of the Beehive Grange, spending much of her spare time at Grange activities.
Survivors include a son, Derrill Steinbach of Edmonds; a daughter, Caril Scott of Seattle; two brothers, Glen Peffley of East Wenatchee and Earl Peffley of Wenatchee; a granddaughter, Beth Aiken of Anchorage; a sister, Helen Pygott of Wenatchee; nieces, Glenna Atwood, Marjorie Rerucha, and Pat Butler; and nephews, Tom and Bill Reid and Dick and Don Pygott. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, two brothers and a sister.
