Genevieve Dorothy Carroll, daughter of Roy and Marie Pebley, was born August 18, 1915, in the State of California. She departed this life Thursday, November 4, 2004, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, two months, and sixteen days.
She was united in marriage to Lawrence E. Carroll later in her life and they had shared the last several years together.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Patrick Nutt; her husband, Harry McMahon; a brother, Leonard Roy Pebley, Sr.; and a sister, Patricia Hayes.

Genevieve is survived by her husband, Lawrence, of the home; two stepsons, Larry Carroll, and his wife, Sue, of Jackson, Tennessee, and Douglas Carroll, of Springfield, Missouri; two step-grandchildren; a niece, Patsy Boggs, of Houston, Texas; a nephew, Lennie Pebley, Jr., of Denver, Colorado; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

She was born and raised in California. Her father was killed in an automobile accident when she was eight years old, and a few years later she moved with her mother to Missouri. After she and Harry were married, they made their home in Des Moines, Iowa, then in Minnesota, and eventually moved to Mansfield, Missouri. For the last fifteen years she had lived in Springfield, Missouri. Throughout her life she was a devoted and hardworking homemaker.

Genevieve followed the Catholic faith through the years.

In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors where she liked working in her garden, and was an avid golfer.

Genevieve was a loving wife, stepmother, step-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the memories she created for her family and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2004, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral of Mansfield, Missouri
