Velma I. Pease, 70, of rural Marengo, formerly of Gilberts, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2004 at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore.
She was born March 10, 1934 in Elgin, the daughter of Henry and Irene (Larson) Schramm. Velma graduated in 1952 from Elgin High School and married Adelbert F. Pease on September 6, 1952. They farmed in the Gilberts area for over 40 years and for 12 years in the Plato Center and Burlington area before moving to Marengo. She was a hard working woman who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband Adelbert; five children, Fred (Debra) Pease and Deb (Dan) Seyller both of Hampshire, Mike (Debbie) Pease of Hinckley, Diane (Kevin) Drake of Clare and David Pease of Marengo; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Harriet Bradley of Hampshire and Doris Marsh of Huntley; and a brother, Ed (Millie) Schramm of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, David Schramm.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire.
Private Grave-side Services will be held on Wednesday at the Hampshire Center Cemetery.
