Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today in the First Christian Church for Mrs. Sarah Kathryn Pearcy. Rev. H.L. Hayes and Ray Allen officiated. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery directed by Harper-Swickard Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pearcy, 83 yrs. old, died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lewis, 1060 First Street.

She was born Sept. 3, 1877 in Coles Co., IL. a daughter of Sam and Hala Marrs Rutan. She was married to George Vernon Pearcy whom died on Oct 24, 1947.

Surviving are daughters; Mrs. Leo E. Ferguson & Mrs. Orville Lewis, both of Charleston, Mrs. Halsey Judson of Greenup, Mrs. Delbert Ingram of Toledo; surviving sons, Logan Pearcy of Charleston, Grover Pearcy of Clay City; a sister Mrs. Ella Snyder of Charleston; 39 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren. Five children preceded her in death.
