She was born July 2, 1951, in Springfield, Mo. to Everett C. and Erma P. Campbell Peak, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John David Young.
Erma was a lifelong resident of the area, living in Crane and Springfield, before moving to Lebanon. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, John Young and daughter, Samantha Young, both of Lebanon; four brothers, Charley and Everett Peak, of Crane; Sammy Peak, of Neosho, and J.C. Peak, of Springfield; a sister Tressie Robinette Dersham, of Crane; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services and burial for Erma Josephine Young were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at the Bass Chapel Cemetery at Strafford, under the care of Westrip Funeral Home of Crane.
