Obituary, The State (Columbia, SC) September 16, 2006: Martha Knight, Camden - Funeral services for Martha Ellen Peach Knight, 78, of Camden, will be held Sunday, September 17, 2006, at 4 p.m. at Emanuel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Atkerson will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 16, from 6-9 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, Palmetto Chapter, 3608 Landmark Drive, Suite C, Columbia, SC 29204 or Hospice of Kershaw County, 2001 W. DeKalb St., Camden, SC 29020. Mrs. Knight, widow of John Massey Knight Sr., died Friday, September 15, 2006. Born in Westville, she was the daughter of the late George Benjamin and Cora Cornelia Owens Peach. She was employed by Skyline for 30 years and Wal-Mart for 15 years. Surviving are her children, Vicki (Mike) Thomas of Lake Wateree, Johnny (Sharon) Knight, Donnie (Sandy) Knight, both of Lugoff, Richard (Linda) Knight of Camden; grandchildren, Jon (Sarah) Hanf, Nikki, Heather Knight of Lugoff, Margaret and Kathryn Knight of Camden; great-grandchildren, Trey and Emma Hanf of Lugoff; sisters, Annie B. Holden, Lancaster, Lucy M. Witman of Fairfax, VA, Pat (Bob) Greer, Peggy P. Parker, both of Kershaw; brothers, Robert B. Peach and Joe R. Peach, both of Kershaw, Gerald G. Peach of Lancaster and G. David Peach of CA; stepdaughters, Naomi (Don) Farrow of Camden, Shirley (Billy) Anderson and Joyce Boykin, Peggy (Clinnon) Bowers, all of Sumter. She was predeceased by sisters, Bessie Faulkenberry and Rachel Wright and brother, Billy Peach.
