Zettie Hamm, 88, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Ephraim McDowell Ft. Logan Hospital. She was born Wednesday, December 7, 1921 in Casey County to the late Esquire B. and Margaret Hatfield Patten. She was a homemaker and a member of South Fork Baptist Church. Granny Hamm loved her church and singing and will be remembered for her love of quilting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, B. & Mag Patten; her husband, Vaughn R. Hamm, Sr.; her daughter, Patricia Sue Hamm; three brothers and three son-in-laws.
She is survived by her sons, J.R. Hamm and his wife, Brenda and Welby Hamm and his wife, Margarett, all of Stanford; his daughters, Wanda Barrett of Stanford and Joyce Mitchell of Waynesburg; her brother, Welby Patten of Vanceburg; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
An Appreciation of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 11th at Fox Funeral Home by Bros. Josh Vanhook, Mike Mullins and Paul Patton with burial to follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may go to the Building Fund at South Fork Baptist Church. Darren Barrett, Troy Hamm, Wendell Hamm, Rodney Floyd, Robert Floyd, Jr. and Billy Hastie will serve as Pallbearers.
