Joan Marie Johnson of Lindsay, Oklahoma passed away on June 15, 2007 at the age of 64. She was born on August 31, 1942 in Cement, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Lois Franklin and Evelyn Mae Pate. She graduated from Cement High School. Joan married Bill Johnson in Cement, Oklahoma on December 28, 1959. She moved to Lindsay in 1963. Joan was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cement, Oklahoma. Joan enjoyed many things in life. She was a very outgoing person and is well known for her kindness and her love for her family, gardening, watching her grandchildren play sports, visiting her son and family in Houston, Texas, and shopping with her daughters. She looked forward to spending weekends with Bill on their weekend excursions, crossword puzzles, and loved to cook and prepare all of the holiday meals. Joan was an avid OU fan and a diehard Lindsay Leopard fan.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law, Jim Base. Joan is survived by her loving husband Bill Johnson, her children; Larry Johnson and wife Becky of Seabrook, Texas, Debbie Ezell and husband Gary of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Angie Clark and husband Jerry Don of Lindsay, Oklahoma, her brothers and sisters; Peggy Base of Augusta, Kansas, Frank Pate and wife Linda of Douglass, Kansas, her grandchildren; Brandice Johnson of Natchitoches, LA, Martha Johnson, Zack Johnson, Shae Johnson of Seabrook, Texas, Douglas Ezell, Dustin Ezell, Kalee Ezell of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Baylee Clark, and Logan Clark of Lindsay, Oklahoma. Joan will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews.
Services for Joan will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2007, at the Erin Springs Baptist Church in Erin Springs, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
