LULA BEATRICE EVANS PATE

Lula was born November 8, 1911 in Ringgold, Bienville Parish, Louisiana to John Henry Evans and Dillie Selina Logan. She died November 24, 1984 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana.

She grew up as the daughter of a farmer and store owner.

She was raised in a household of six children.
They are as follows:

Lena, Linnie Mae, Maude, Dorothy and
John Henry Evans, Jr.

Her grandparents were:

Zillie Evans and Fronie Woods,
John H. Logan and Kate Wilson.

Lula married B.O. Pate September 5, 1931 in Webster Parish, Louisiana. Officiating Officer was J.B. Felts, Justice of the Peace. Witnesses were, Maude Evans, Coriene Jones and Oscar Logan. Lula was age 19 and Bevie was age 22.

To this union four children were born, three girls and one boy. Since two of these children are still living, I will not add their names. Also, Lula was a step mother to Bevie's son Vernon Bevie Pate. Vernon is buried in Mesa Cemetery, Mesa, Arizona.

Lula was a great cook and always had plenty to eat at her house. She loved to have company around and always made everyone feel welcome. She was loved by all of her family and friends. She loved to sew and made many beautiful clothes for her family. She always added lace and beautiful buttons on her creations.

She was a member of Bistineau Baptist Church and a very active member.
