Louise Mae Pennington - Funeral services for Louise Mae Pennington, age 60, who died at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, Missouri on Wednesday, August 12, 1998 were held at the Ritchie Funeral Home on Monday, August 17, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Nancy Ross officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery in Bedford. Services were conducted by the Ritchie Funeral Home of Bedford.
Louise Mae Pennington was born to Samuel and Lula Mae Canny Parrish on October 22, 1937 in Clearfield. On November 15,1960 she was united in marriage to Willis Pennington in Grant City, Missouri. To this loving union three children were born, Linda, Sherry and Roberta.
Louise grew up in Clearfield and moved to Bedford while she was in high school. After she and Willis were married they moved to St. Joseph, Missouri. When Willis died in 1963 she moved back to Bedford where she resided until 1981 when she moved to Parnell, Missouri. Louise was a member of the United Methodist Church in Parnell and a past member of the Auxiliary of the John F. Hardin American Legion Post No. 164.
Louise was a wonderful mother for her daughters, and many others. She helped raise her grandchildren and would do just about anything for any one. Louise loved gardening and flowers and was fond of her animals. Her favorite was a cat named RaPoo.
Survivors include her three daughters, Linda Pace of Bedford; Sherry Pennington Drury and her husband Sherman of Port Byron, Illinois; and Roberta Akes and husband Greg of Bedford; her fiancé, Orville Morris of Parnell, Missouri; four grandchildren, Michael Curphey, Kimberly Kreps, Andrew Akes and Wilbur Pace; an adopted daughter, Deb Burgmaier Weaver and her children, Amanda Burgmaier and Jacob Weaver.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Lula Mae; her husband Willis Pennington in 1963; an infant son Larry Daniel; and a stepbrother, Bob Parrish.
