He married Leona Linsey, June 27, 1958, at Osage City. She survives of the home.
He later lived in Mobile, Ala., before moving to Topeka in 1963. He worked at the Army, Air Force Exchange Services, in Topeka, for 10 years before being injured on the job.He has lived in Osage City for the past 45 years.
He served in the United States Army Reserve and was activated to active duty in 1963. He was a member of Robert Heizer American Legion Post No. 198, Osage City, Osage City Lions Club, and the Saturday Afternoon Card Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Daniel Parre and wife, Trish, Osage City, and Michael Parre and wife, Becky, Roseville, Calif.; his sister, Mary Kay Rappard, Rock Port, Texas; his brother, Paul Parre, Topeka; five grandchildren, Kara Parre, Brian Parre, Aaron Parre, Brandon Meyer and Kathryn Parre; and one great grandchild.
Memorial services were Aug. 31 at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, Osage City. Burial followed at Osage City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Robert Heizer American Legion Post No. 198 or Osage City United Methodist Church and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, KS 66523.
