HARLAN E. PARMENTER, 90 of Bloomington, Ind. formerly of Princeton, passed away Friday April 27, 2012 at the I.U. Medical Center in Bloomington.

He was born Oct. 29, 1921 in Edwards Co., Ill to Milo A. and Blanche (McCown) Parmenter. He had lived in Bloomington for over 20 years moving there from Princeton.

Harlan was retired insurance agent with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company where he worked for 13 years.

He was a veteran of World War II serving as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corp.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Bloomington, V.F.W. Post 1147, American Legion Post 25, and Prince Lodge #231 F.&A.M.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Dr. Matthew and Nancy Parmenter of Bloomington; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Greg Koberstein of Evansville; 3 grandchildren Erin Bane, Megan Parmenter and Matthew A. Parmenter II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 62 years Dorothy M. (Hughes) Parmenter, Aug. 11, 2009, brothers Charles A. and James H. Parmenter, sisters, Juanita Stevens and Laura Alice Allen.

Funeral Services will be private with Rev. David Bremer officiating.

Burial will be in the Columbia "White" Church Cemetery. There will no public visitation.

Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton is handling the arrangements.
