Young Wife and Mother, Native of Annopolis, Dies in Hagerstown of Pneumonia
Mrs. Golda Parlett Conrad, wife of Prof. Benjamin F. Conrad, died yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock at her home in Hagerstown, Md. of pneumonia.
Besides her husband, who for some years was principal of the Hagerstown High School, but is now associated with the Hagerstown Chemical Company, she is survived by six children: the eldest seventeen years, the youngest one week old today.
The deceased was the daughter of Mrs. Mary E. and the late David O. Parlett of this city and is survived by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. William R. Abbott, of Washington; Mrs. Thomas J. Linthicum, wife of the postmaster, this city; Mrs. Eppa Runton Roan, Norfolk, Va.; Mrs. McMillen, wife of Lieut-Comdr G. J. McMillen, US Navy; Mr. Morgan Parlett, Annapolis; Mr. David Parlett, Washington; Capt. Roger Parlett, Medical Corps, U.S. Army; Messrs. Percival K., Ernest, George, and "Jack" Parlett. Her mother, Mrs. David O. Parlett, also survives.
Mrs. Conrad's death is pecurliarly sad as she leaves an infant only a week old, besides five other children. As Miss Golda Parlett, she grew to young womanhood in Annapolis where she was born about forty years ago and where she was married about twenty years ago to Prof. Benjamin Conrad, a graduate of St. John's College, this city.
She had a wide circle of friends here who will mourn her death.
The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon in Hagerstown at 2:30 o'clock, the remains to be interred in the cemetery there near the grave of her neice, Mrs. Mary Abbott Long, whose death occurred three weeks ago in Hagerstown of the same disease. Postmaster Linthicum, whose wife was with her sister when she died, will leave here tomorrow morning to attend the funeral.
