Entered into eternal rest on the evening Wednesday, July 6, 2011, Joyce Carter Parks, wife of Marion Parks, residence Charleston, SC.

The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Parks are invited to attend her funeral service Saturday, July 9, 2011 in Charleston Baptist Church at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends Friday, July 8th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.

She was born October 17, 1933 in Georgetown, SC, a daughter of the late James and Addie Cribb Carter.

Mrs. Parks retired from Middleton High School where she worked in the Guidance Counselors Office and was a charter member of Charleston Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, one daughter, Kathryn Loudermilk of Summerville, SC; six sons, Brooks Parks, Jr. of Ontario, Canada, James Parks of N. Charleston, SC, Richard Parks of Charleston, SC, Steve Parks of Charleston, SC, Neil Parks of Columbia, SC and Jeff Parks of N. Charleston, SC; one brother, Charles Carter of Martinsburg, West Virginia, one sister, Carol Jean Sorokach of Georgetown, SC, nine grandsons, four granddaughters and two great- grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charleston Baptist Church Building Fund, 13 San Miguel Road, Charleston, SC 29407.
