Funeral Services were at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Eden Valley Church of God in Eden Valley. Rev. Daniel Smead will officiate. Burial was in Eden Lake Cemetery.
Mildred was born on April 7, 1915, on the family farm in Eden Lake Township, the daughter of Evert M. and Bertia Kirkpatrick. She attended rural grade school in District #77. On Aug. 8, 1932, she was baptized in the Christian faith in Rice Lake.
On Dec. 23, 1942, she was united in marriage to Russell Parks in Seattle, Wash. To this union one son and one daughter were born. They made their home in Seattle, Wash.; Big Bend, N.D.; and Blomkest before moving to rural Paynesville in 1950. Mildred helped maintain their hobby farm and worked as a homemaker. In September 2003, Mildred and Russell moved to Washburne Court in Paynesville. Mildred was a member of Eden Valley Church of God where she was once active in the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, gardening, and flowers.
She is survived by her son, Val (Roseanne) Parks of Paynesville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Edward (June) Kirkpatrick of Cold Spring.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell in January 2004; a daughter, Beverly; one brother; and one sister.
