Ima Jean Almond
Asheville - Ima Jean Almond, 88, of Asheville, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1916, in Transylvania County, the daughter of the late Camila Henry and Sylvance Parker. She retired as a seamstress from Diamond Brand Manufacturing.
Ima was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Almond; her son, Marvin Howell; and all of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Stephen Almond of Longwood, Fla., James Edward Almond of Black Mountain and Jerry Almond of Davenport, Fla.; three daughters, Bonnie Creasman of Asheville, Dorothy Jones of Black Mountain and Linda Blackman of Brooksville, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Service with the Rev. Wayne Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Wayne Jones reciting committal prayers.
