Lucy was born to James Boyd and Martha McIntyre in Jamestown, Grenville County, Ontario, Canada. She had a daughter with Richard Bolton in 1820 in Mountain, Dundas, Ontario, Canada, although Lucy never married him. Later, some time after 1820 and before 1831, she married Joseph V. Parker. They had two more daughters in 1832 and 1834. They joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, along with their married daughter Martha Bolton Parker Wilcox and her family. They moved to Nauvoo, arriving in October 1840, where Lucy and her daughter Lucy died before the rest of the family moved farther west to Iowa and Utah.
