Bessie Jeanne Fargo Bailey Parker, 77, wife of Kenneth Parker, died at her San Diego home surrounded by her loved ones following a battle with cancer.

Born in Corsica, PA, she was a daughter of Lewis and Melzena "Peg" Smyers Kugler. She was raised in rural Clarion County, Pennsylvania. Jeanne attended Porter Township school and graduated from Redbank Valley High School in New Bethehem, PA. Upon graduation she moved to Akron, Ohio, where she was employed as a secretary for The
Travelers Insurance Company.

She was first married to Robert Fargo in Akron. He preceded her in death.

Moving to San Diego, California around 1960, Jeanne was employed for years at Cubic Corporation as an executive secretary; and then worked for the San Diego County legal department until her retirement.

While living in San Diego, in 1977 she married her third husband, Kenneth Parker, who was the real love of her life. Following Ken's death in 1986 she moved to Tehachapi, CA for a number of years where she was employed by the California Correctional Institution. She also was the owner-operator of a Slender You exercise salon there. She went home to San Diego in 1998. Although she said she was retired, she was employed part-time by a home care agency.

She was a fun loving individual. She enjoyed spending time at her home is Mexico, loved the beach, was endlessly doing word searches, liked to read, go boating and fish. But her REAL passion was for playing the slot machines. She and friends would venture to the Indian casinos or to Las Vegas to gamble quite often. She won a number of large jackpots, but forgot what she put into the machines to get those payouts!!!!!

Jeanne crocheted many afghans that were donated to a charity which provided for homeless people.

Jeanne is survived by three children, Robert Fargo and wife Pam of Missouri; Jacqueline Fargo and her partner Joanne of San Diego; and Timothy Fargo and friend Toni, also of San Diego; daughter-in-law Cathy Fargo and grandson Robbie Fargo of San Diego; two sisters, Connie (Ron) Fourmet of Tehachapi, CA and Louise (John) Smith of New Bethlehem, PA; one brother, John H. Kuglar and his wife Janey, of Magnolia Springs, AL; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremains will be interred at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery alongside her husband Kenneth.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
