Delmer J. Parker, 80, of W7291 Highway 23, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at his home, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on Aug. 26, 1917, in Dunn County, a son of James W. and Grace Krause Parker. He married Ardyth Deutsch at Colfax [Wisconsin]. Mr. Parker moved to Fond du Lac to enter the cattle and trucking business with his father. He also worked as a body man at Roy's Auto Body, as a maintenance man at the Retlaw Hotel and at Montgomery Ward before retiring. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, a longtime member of Fond du Lac Yacht Club, a member of the Fond du Lac County Deputy Sheriffs Association and the Fond du Lac Humane Society. Mr. Parker was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, JoAnn Worth of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Don and his friend Debbie, Billy-Joe and his wife Wendy, and Cindy-Jean, all of Fond du Lac; six greatgrandchildren; one brother, Kenneth and his wife Pauline of Wofford Heights, Calif.; many nieces and nephews; a special friend, Jerry Steffes; and caring and helpful neighbors. Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Vidella Justman; and an infant brother. Services: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Mach Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mary Council Austin and the Rev. Arnold Weaver will officiate. Burial will be at Estabrooks Cemetery. Visitation: From 11 a.m. to the time of services Friday at the funeral chapel.
